According to a survey in November 2019, 72 percent of respondents in Malaysia longed for a FX* wallet account that can be used directly for transactions in foreign countries as an additional bank service. The digital approach is growing as a part of the business model for banks in Malaysia. In December 2019, Bank Negara, Malaysia's central bank, established licensing frameworks for virtual banks in the country.
