In a survey conducted in 2020, regarding the opinion on private sector businesses investing in infrastructure in selected countries in the Asia Pacific region, 82 percent of respondents strongly, or somewhat, agreed that it was fine for private business sectors to invest in China's infrastructure, providing China received the infrastructure it needed. Comparatively, half of respondents from South Korea agreed that private sector businesses could invest in the country's infrastructure, providing South Korea got the infrastructure in needed in 2020.
