In a survey conducted by Ipsos in 2019, regarding the opinion on past national infrastructure projects in selected countries across the Asia Pacific region, 53 percent of respondents strongly, or somewhat, agreed with the statement that India had a poor record at getting national infrastructure projects right. Contrastingly, only 19 percent of the respondents thought Japan had a poor record at getting national infrastructure projects right in 2019.

Original survey question: "To what extent do you agree or disagree? [Country] has a poor record at getting national infrastructure projects right."
The source defines infrastructure as "things we rely on, for example, road, rail and air networks, utilities such as energy and water, and broadband and other communications."
Participants from 28 countries aged between 18 to 64 years old in the U.S. and Canada and 16 to 64 years old in all other countries.
