In October 2018, a survey was conducted in Italy concerning the materials utilized for the load-bearing structure of residential buildings to be completed between 2018 and 2019. It was found that the most used material was on-site reinforced concrete (41 percent), followed by reinforced concrete and steel (32 percent). In contrast, wood accounted for only one percent of the bearing structures of residential buildings.
