More than one half of Russians participating in the survey by IPSOS in 2019 strongly believed that their country needed to focus on domestic rather than international affairs given economic difficulties at home. At the same time, 84 percent of respondents strongly or somewhat agreed that Russia had a responsibility of acting as a moral leader in the global arena and setting an example for other countries.
