Vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) is recommended between the ages of 11 and 14, to immunize before being exposed to the risk (sexual contact). In 2018, the vaccination coverage was unevenly spread throughout Belgium's regions. Indeed, whilst 14,5 percent of women living in the Brussels-Capital Region had been vaccinated against HPV, the share of Flemish women reached 23,8 percent. Vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) is recommended to prevent the risk of cervical, vaginal, and anal cancer.
