HPV vaccination coverage in Belgium 2018, by educational level

Vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) is recommended to prevent the risk of cervical, vaginal, and anal cancer. In 2018, the higher the educational level of Belgian women, the higher their vaccination coverage. Indeed, whilst 4.5 percent of women with primary education had been vaccinated against HPV, the share of women with higher education reached 23 percent. Vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) is recommended between the ages of 11 and 14, to immunize before being exposed to the risk (sexual contact).
