On average, Dutch consumers waste approximately 33.4 kilos of food per person per year. This is a considerable decline in comparison to 2010, when the average food waste of consumers in the Netherlands was estimated to be nearly 50 kilos.

2022 results are a combination of three different surveys. CREM Waste Management analyzed the waste of 130 households in 13 municipalities, Flycatcher Internet Research questioned 1,008 consumers about their food waste, and Kantar Public tracked the waste of 834 respondents through an app.
