As of 2019, the vast majority of people surveyed in the Netherlands in a survey on global attitudes indicated that they attributed significant importance to the freedom to access the internet without state or government censorship. Close to 75 percent of people surveyed indicated that they considered internet freedom to be very important, while a further 17 percent attributed some importance to uncensored access to the internet.
