In Belgium, the use of the birth control pill by sexually active women was higher in younger age groups than in older ones in 2018. During that year, around 74 percent of women aged 15 to 24 used such a contraceptive method, whereas, less than 30 percent of women aged over 45 to 49 years old used the birth control pill.
