In 2023, nearly 42 billion zloty was paid in Poland as benefits for families covered by the 500+ program, a decrease of one percent compared to the previous year. On average, 7.4 million children under 18 years old received support from the Polish government in 2023. The highest benefits were paid in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, reaching almost 6.6 billion zloty.

“Family 500+” program is a systemic support for Polish families. From 1 July 2019, all children up to the age of 18 are entitled to the benefit, regardless of income received by the family:
- the program offers support for every family, also for single-parents - the funds are paid out regularly, every month until the child completes 18 years of age.
The value of educational benefits paid is given together with benefits paid to children in foster care and children who came from Ukraine due to the armed conflict.
