According to a report on the state of bicycle roads in South Korea in 2022, bicycle parking facilities had a capacity of around 775 thousand bicycles, with facilities in Gyeonggi province having a capacity of over 222 thousand and over 135 thousand in Gyeongnam. After those two, Seoul was third with space for just over 127 thousand bicycles. While the number of parking facilities decreased in several cities and provinces, Seoul and Busan among them, their number strongly increased in Gyeongnam and Jeonnam. In Gyeongnam, they increased more than threefold, while in Jeonnam they more than doubled within the past year.
