In a survey conducted from 2018 to 2019, regarding the internet infrastructure within certain higher education institutions across the Asia Pacific region, 44 percent of respondents stated that digital infrastructure was a minor obstacle. Comparatively, only 13 percent stated digital infrastructure within their higher education institution was a significant obstacle.

Respondents were also asked to describe the internet infrastructure within the institution.
Respondents were split into two categories: one which targeted the leadership of higher education institutions and a second which was targeted at representatives in higher education institutions. This survey question was asked to the second category.
