In the fiscal year 2022, the total expenditure of nationalized public sector banks was approximately 6.3 trillion Indian rupees. Out of this, a large share of the expenditure was spent on interests, while the remaining was spent as operating expenses.
Overall, the Punjab National Bank was seen to have the highest expenditure in fiscal year 2021, followed by Canara Bank and Bank of Baroda.
