The federal police of Beligum registered over 1.2 thousand cases of drug dealing in the region of Brussels-Capital in 2018. The number of reported cases seemed to be on the rise over the years. In 2009, the police registered 678 cases, whereas over a thousand cases were reported each year, from 2013 to 2018. However, the rise of such cases was not steady over the years. For some years, such as 2012 or 2017, a moderate decrease in term of reported cases were found. Nonetheless, when looking at crime numbers, it is important to keep in mind that they reflect solely reported and registered cases.
As of the first half of 2019, 625 cases of drug dealing have been filed in the region of Brussels-Capital.
