In 2022, the harvested area of açaí berry in Brazil amounted to 2033.4 thousand hectares, up from 208.1 thousand hectares in the previous year. The fruit, native of South American rainforests, is considered a superfood, and is popularly used for smoothie bowls. Brazil's açaí production however featured an increase in 2022, totaling 1.7 million metric tons.
