In 2022, the percentage of road transport in total inland freight transport in Malta did not change in comparison to the previous year. The percentage of road transport in total inland freight transport remained at 100 percent. According to Eurostat, road transport is collected based on all movements of vehicles registered in the reporting country and thus further methodological developments and computations were needed to be done by Eurostat for estimating road transport according to the 'territoriality principle'.
