Younger generations had a higher participation in tourism than older demographics in Croatia in 2021. Over six in ten of individuals aged 25 to 34 traveled in that year. To compare, only around 14 percent of Croatians aged 65 years or over made an overnight trip in 2021.

Refers to the share of population within the respective age group who made at least one domestic or outbound trip of at least one overnight stay during the reference year.
Only trips for personal purpose are covered: 1) visits to friends and relatives; 2) holidays, leisure, and recreation.
The source adds that data are primarily collected via sample surveys. However, in a few cases the data relating to outbound flows are compiled from border surveys.
