According to a survey on Indonesian consumers in 2019, the majority of respondents across all household income groups overwhelmingly preferred foreign-made digital devices, computers and accessories. According to the same survey, an increase in monthly income correlates with an increased preference for foreign products, especially for alcoholic beverages, clothing and footwear, and cosmetics and beauty care products.
