According to a survey conducted by Ipsos on the state of happiness, it was found that Indians found relocation to a new country as a less attractive source of happiness. About 30 percent of respondents felt moving to a new country was a source of some happiness to them, while 24 percent of the respondents did not view it as a source of happiness.

According to the source, respondents were more urban and educated, with higher incomes than their fellow citizens. As such, the results should be viewed as reflecting the views of a more 'connected population'.
