According to a survey conducted by Ipsos on the state of happiness in India, at 53 percent, a majority of Indian respondents considered the relationship with their spouse or partner as their greatest source of happiness.
Japan ranked lowest on this index with only 22 percent of the respondents stating that they found great joy in their relationships.

According to the source, respondents were more urban and educated, with higher incomes than their fellow citizens. As such, the results should be viewed as reflecting the views of a more 'connected population'.
