As of November 2019, the Italian region with the strongest Bitcoin presence was Trentino-South Tyrol. Here, there were roughly ten stores and companies accepting bitcoins every 100,000 inhabitants. In Lombardy, by contrast, there were on average only 1.5 stores per 100,000 inhabitants, despite being the region with the highest number of stores and companies where it was possible to pay with Bitcoin in the country.
