In 2019, consumer sentiment on the macroeconomic state of Indonesia was generally optimistic across all five cities surveyed. The city of Jakarta had the largest share of optimistic respondents with 79 percent of respondents stating so. By comparison, respondents in Medan were the least optimistic, with 58 percent of respondents stating so. This growing optimism coincides with Indonesia's improving economic situation in 2019.
