In a survey on the state of happiness in Australia conducted by Ipsos in 2019, around 47 percent of respondents stated that their health or physical well-being gave them or could give them the greatest happiness. Globally, 55 percent of adults surveyed reported the same during the survey period.

Respondents were asked to complete the following: "My health/physical well-being -
Does or could give me greatest happiness, does or could give me some happiness, doesn't or couldn't make me happy or happier, does not apply to me".
