In the last century, observations have been made to evaluate how the sea level has risen and what were the main drivers contributing to this effect. From 1901 to 1990, glaciers that were not part of the Greenland region, contributed to a sea level rise of around 0.54 millimeters per year. Between 1993 and 2010, there were several factors that had an impact on the sea level rise, including the land water storage, like lakes and groundwater, which contributed to an increase of 0.38 millimeters per year.
