According to the data obtained by Ipsos in 2019, 47 percent of Russians received the greatest happiness from a feeling that their life had a meaning. Furthermore, hobbies and interests brought the greatest or some happiness to 87 percent of survey respondents. At the same time, a significantly smaller share of the country's population experienced similar emotions while communicating on social media, with roughly a quarter of population receiving any level of happiness from it.

According to the source, the population sample in Russia is "more urban, more
educated and/or more affluent than the general population and the
results should be viewed as reflecting the views of a more “connected”
population."
