India consumed an estimated volume of over 23 million metric tons of vegetable oils in fiscal year 2023. These included oil from coconuts, cottonseeds, olives, palm, peanuts, rapeseed, soybeans, and sunflowers. The worldwide consumption that year was over 210 million metric tons.
