Individuals struggling to pay mortgage instalments in Italy 2017-2019, by area
According to the results of a survey conducted in 2019, on average one in three Italians struggled to pay their mortgage. However, this graph shows that there are regional differences. While in the North-West only 19 percent of the respondents declared that they struggled to pay their mortgage instalments, in the rest of the country the share of individuals struggling with this problem was much higher. For example, in the South almost one in two respondents admitted that they struggled to pay their mortgage instalments.
