As of August 2019, older generations in the Netherlands appeared to have fewer doubts about the compatibility of economic growth with the welfare of the planet. Respondents over the age of 40 were more inclined to think that growth and the planet were not conflicting interest, with over 30 percent of people in this age group indicating that they thought both were compatible. Meanwhile, the share of 25 to 40 year olds who shared this opinion was significantly lower, at 19 percent.
