In 2016, over 7,000 disseminations were sent by China's Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) in total, and around 67 percent of them led to further investigations. China officially became a member of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) in 2007. Over the past years, China has greatly improved its framework on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing measures under the guidance and supervision of FATF.

As an national agency, the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) is responsible for collecting, analyzing and providing crime-related financial information. China's de-centralized FIU consists of China Anti-Money Laundering Monitoring and Analysis Centre (CAMLMAC), Anti-Money Laundering Bureau (AMLB) and 36 provincial branches of People's Bank of China (PBC).
