In an online survey of 2019, almost 87 percent of freelancers in Japan who had previously worked as company employees stated that they felt more satisfaction after starting their freelance work. For most participants of the survey, working time decreased while spare time increased. More than 70 percent of the respondents reported that they felt less stressed than before.
