According to a survey in September 2022 by Rakuten Insight on wearable tech, older respondents in Malaysia stated that they did not see the need for a smartwatch or fitness tracker, with 47 percent of respondents in the 45 to 54 year old age bracket, and 56 percent for those 55 years and above, responding so. Younger respondents on the other hand claimed that they were not into sports. In the same survey, about half of the respondents in Malaysia stated that they owned a smart wearable.
