The largest share of sales in the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry in Russia in 2020 belonged to discount stores, measuring at 29 percent. Hypermarkets or stores of the Cash&Carry format, whose portion gradually decreased since 2015, accounted for 14 percent of the FMCG turnover in 2020.

Until 2015, the study surveyed 10 thousand households; from 2016 onwards, 20 thousand households.
Figures for "other channels" were not provided by the source for years 2011 to 2017 and were calculated manually by deducting the shares of provided channels from 100 percent.
