In fiscal year 2021, the average cost of ticket prices at PVR cinemas was 180 Indian rupees. This was lower compared to the 2019 and 2020 financial years when the cost came to about respectively 207 and 204 rupees. The reduction in Goods and Services Tax rates as of first January 2019 helped bring the prices down for tickets.
PVR cinemas was founded in 1997 and ever since the company has been growing rapidly, with over 800 screens across 71 cities in India.
