Attendance at domestic movies in Ecuador 2015-2022
Throughout 2022, movie theaters in Ecuador sold around 150 thousand tickets to domestic films, up from 100 thousand in the previous year. Despite the annual increase, the 2022 figure accounted for little more than 40 percent of the peak 370-thousand domestic movie attendance recorded in 2019, before the pandemic. Ecuador recorded the seventh-highest box office revenue in Latin America in 2022.
