Out of the 59 percent of women respondents who use public transport across India in 2018, 40 percent of the women used public transport as it was affordable. 15 percent of the women felt that they did not have any other choice other than to use buses or trains.
Factors influencing women to use public transportation across India in 2018
*Likert scale is a type of rating scale used to measure attitudes or opinions. With this scale, respondents are asked to rate items on a level of agreement.
Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhuvaneshwar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Indore, Jammu, Mumbai, Kochi, Mysuru and New Delhi were the cities under consideration.
