Box office revenue in Uruguay 2015-2022
In 2022, Uruguay recorded a box office gross of around 11.6 million U.S. dollars, up approximately 198 percent from 3.9 million dollars a year earlier. Despite the annual increase, the 2022 figure amounted to less than 63 percent of the 18.4-million-dollar revenue reported in 2019, before the pandemic. Also in 2022, Uruguay had the most expensive movie tickets in Latin America, on average.
