According to a survey conducted by Ipsos on the outlook for 2020, approximately 38 percent of Japanese respondents agreed that 2019 was a bad year for them and their family. Compared to 46 percent of respondents worldwide agreeing to the statement, Japanese people had a less negative perception of the year 2019 with regard to their family situation.
