In 2023, oil exports from Latin America reached the lowest figure in at least 2022 years, amounting to 4.02 million barrels per day. This represents a decrease of nearly 42 percent in comparison to 2016, when the region's exports registered the peak of the decade, at over 7.1 million daily barrels. However, in 2023, this value increased to 4.69 million barrels per day. Similarly, oil production in Latin America also showed a similar trend during the recent years.
