In 2018, according to the incidents reported to CyberSecurity Malaysia through MyCert, .com.my was the most targeted domain for web defacement with a total of 239 reports. The sources of incidents reported to MyCERT were coming from numerous parties from Malaysia as well as from outside Malaysia, which included home users, private sectors, government sectors, industries, cybersecurity organizations from abroad, cyber threat intelligence, foreign CERTs, Special Interest Groups, as well as pro-active monitoring.

*MyCERT is Malaysia Computer Emergency Response Team. MyCERT works closely with law enforcement agencies such as the Royal Malaysian Police, Securities Commission, and Bank Negara Malaysia. MyCERT also has close collaborations with Internet Service Providers (ISP), computer security incident response teams and various computer security initiatives world wide.
