During a July 2019 survey of online adults in the United States, it was found that 65 percent of all respondents who identified as Democrats thought that politicians should not be allowed to block people on social media or prevent them from seeing or interacting with posts from a social media account. Only 44 percent of Independent-identifying respondents thought the same.
