Around 20 percent of iPhone XR buyers who upgraded from an Apple product previously used an iPhone 7, while another 16 percent were iPhone 7 Plus users. One of the newest products in Apple's iPhone line, the XR was released in September of 2018 alongside the XS and XS Max. Both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus were released in September of 2016, which seems to indicate that a significant portion of iPhone users tend to upgrade their phone after around two years.
