Between 2015 and 2019, the sales volume of main course salads increased significantly. Whereas in 2015, supermarkets in the Netherlands sold just under 30 million main course salads, by 2019 this had grown to over 37 million. According to the source, growth was especially strong in the discount channel. Including Aldi and Lidl, supermarkets saw the sales volume of main course salads increase by 27 percent. Excluding the two discounters, the sales volume grew by 21 percent in this period.
