According to a 2019 survey, Dutch consumers are not necessarily against buying so-called fruit and vegetable 'misfits' (vegetables and fruits that slightly deviate from the standard norms, for example by being misshapen). 96 percent of survey participants saw advantages of buying these misfits. Over 80 percent of respondents named preventing food waste, whilst other mentioned it was a cheaper way of buying fruit and vegetables.
