The survey by Ipsos conducted in 2019 shows that, 55 percent of the participants from Russia argued that their country could trade with any country as long as this benefited the national economy, no matter if a trade partner previously violated international human rights or not. Among all the countries participating in the survey, an average of 36 percent believed their countries should have only traded with partners with a positive human rights record. In Russia, the share of those agreeing with aforementioned statement amounted to only 15 percent.
