The COVID-19 pandemic affected directly the lives of many people. Approximately 11.23 million people in Mexico were considered vulnerable due to a low income or a lack of it in 2020. This represents an increase of 14 percent when compared with the number registered in 2018, which amounted to 9.88 million. The share of Mexican population in a vulnerable state due to a low income or a lack of it considerably decreased in 2022.
