The pet industry in Chinese cities was expanding with a growth rate of around 8.7 percent in 2022. Since the middle class and the household disposable income in China are rising, more Chinese people become pet owners. They are willing to spend more money on their pets. As a result, the total pet industry revenue surpassed 270 billion yuan in 2022. In that year, cat-related consumption grew about 16.1 percent compared to the previous year, higher than the annual growth of dog-related consumption.
