During the fiscal year 2017, the gross value added by trade and repair services accounted for approximately 12.5 trillion Indian rupees in India. This was an increase of about nine percent from the previous fiscal year. Hotels and restaurants made up a smaller portion of this industry with 1.2 trillion rupees in GVA that year.
