Future housing plans of Gen X renters in the U.S. 2016-2019

In April 2019, 58 percent of Gen X renters said they planned to continue renting in the United States and the only 42 percent said they planned to purchase a home. In February 2018, 54 percent planned to buy a home in the near future, so the trend towards homeownership has fallen slightly in this age group.
