Revenues of the Italian Cycling Federation 2020, by source

In 2020, the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) is estimated to be the most significant source of funding for the Italian Cycling Federation. According to the forecast, CONI is expected to assign a grant of approximately 10.5 million euros to the cycling association. Furthermore, as reported by the outlook, members’ fees would account for another pivotal source of income (almost 7 million euros) in the selected year.

The Italian Cycling Federation’s medal tally is riding high

Between 2015 and 2018, the Italian Cycling Federation managed to increase its annual number of medals won from international competitions. In fact, during this period, the federation was able to break its own record for four years in a row. In this sense, in 2018 the medal tally counted 81 medals won.

Cycling: an important public topic for Italians, but...

In 2018, most Italians believed that cycling should be promoted with public policies and incentives. Especially, Italians living in municipalities of 50,000-250,000 inhabitants considered this issue even more important. However, in 2019 only 11 percent of Italians claimed to practice cycling regularly as a sport.
